Mechanical equipment in the work, lubricating oil due to long-term contact with the metal is affected by the surrounding air, temperature, pressure, electric field, light and other factors, in the oil gradually increased foreign impurities, the result in the waste oil will be moisture, dust, sand, metal dust, and long-term use gradually oxidized, making the chemical composition has changed. There are generally the following types of metamorphic substances and harmful impurities:
1.The lubricating oil is easily soiled by various mechanical impurities during the use of the system. There are metal dust, dust, sand, fiber material and so on. This is because the metal powder worn off the friction parts falls into the oil, or because the system and the mechanical housing are not tightly closed, so that dust and sand particles invade the oil. Another phenomenon is that it is polluted or diluted by liquids in other work, such as diesel engines, because some fuel oil is not completely burned and seepage into the lubrication system, gradually diluting the lubricating oil.
2.When the lubricating oil is dirty by water working in the mechanical equipment, water often infiltrates, this is because the lubrication system of various mechanical equipment, hydraulic transmission system, or water cooling device is not tight enough to make the water flow into the oil, in addition, the water in the air can also be absorbed, because the oil has water absorption, its water absorption size is determined by the ambient temperature. Such as transformer oil dissolved moisture and transformer temperature has a great relationship.
3.Thermal decomposition of many kinds of oil, when it is in contact with the high temperature part of the mechanical equipment, such as in the combustion area of the engine fuel, when the quenching and red hot metal direct contact, and in the beginning of the oil with the high pressure arc direct contact, it will suffer great local overheating, direct partial combustion phenomenon, and can make the oil hot to a very high temperature, At this time, the oil will undergo thermal decomposition (cracking), and the result will be the formation of gum and coke, which is called carbon deposition.
4.Oxidized lubricating oil in the process of use, the main reason for chemical changes is the role of oxygen in the air, oil in the work, with the temperature increase for a long time, the increase of contact area and the increase of air contact pressure and other factors and deepening, the result makes the oil to produce some harmful substances, such as acids, gum, asphaltene and so on. As the oxidation in the oil continues to increase, the oil color darkens, the viscosity increases, the acid increases, and the deep mixing slag appears in the oil, so the impurity content continues to increase.
5.Heavy metals (ash) The source of heavy metals has two aspects, one is the heavy metal components and additives in the new base oil, the second is the wear and tear of the equipment metal, the existence of heavy metals in the use of ash content exceeds the standard.
